Synopsis

A promise is a promise is a promise…

Lily James has two loves outside of her family…Maverick Quinn and ballet. She’s a Dogs of Fire Motorcycle Club princess who has found her prince. But when faced with an agonizing truth, she must decide whether to pursue her dreams or protect the one she loves.

Maverick Quinn knows what he wants in life, and it all starts and ends with Lily James. He’s loved her since he was a boy and his love has only grown with age, but when she walks out of his life without warning, he questions their entire relationship.

When a threat from inside her family comes to light, he makes the ultimate sacrifice, because a promise is a promise is a promise.

Review

First off – this is about the children (Wolfpack) of the Dogs of Fire family – if you have not read that series I strongly recommend you do – I LOVED Dogs of Fire – I have read all six.

I also had a happy dance when I saw that Sadie and Ryder from A Nun Walks into a Bar (one of my favourite reads for 2016) join into this story.

Lily I fell in love with when reading her dad Hawk’s story and how she finally gets a beautiful step mother in Payton in Road to Redemption (Dogs of Fire Book 2).  I was very apprehensive when picking this up as I knew Lily was in for a hard road – my only disappointment was I felt this part of the story was rushed.  Loved the moment when Maverick realised that she was sick and barged back into her life – romantic for a biker story.

The Promise is made up of two stories – Lily and her illness and then her and Maverick creating a new life with old threats.  This is why I strongly recommend you read Dogs of Fire first as there are so many links from the Dogs of Fire Books for me and I could easily follow past and present.

My only complaint is I felt some parts were rushed, I needed to savour more and I did find the constant endearments between Lily and Maverick somewhat confusing.  I wish they stuck to the main ones, I kept telling myself they were young hence Maverick was not as alpha as the dads from Dogs of Fire.

I am not a big fan of the cover – I think it is more my inner mind and my picture of how Maverick looks.

Cannot wait for more Wolfpack – particularly Devon and Poppy – now Devon appears so alpha and I cannot wait for them two to finally admit they are so in Love with each other !!
