Sarina Bowen

1     Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, hobbies, pets, etc).

I live with my husband, two school-aged boys and way too much ski and hockey equipment!

2     How did you get into writing and why romance?

I just love the way a good romantic plot arc pulls the reader through the story. Also? I wanted to make readers cry and laugh on the same page. You can do that in romance!

3     Do you ever re-enact the sex scenes you write about?

My husband will kill me if I answer this question.  * I’ll take that as a yes. *

4     Name a romance book or series you would love to see as a movie/TV Series.

Alice Clayton’s Wallbanger would make an hysterical comedy!

5     Have you ever read a book based solely on its cover?

I don’t think so. But the cover for The Martian is pretty darned compelling.

6     What is your ideal way to end a long day?

A glass of wine and a light-hearted book.

7     Describe your ultimate holiday.

It’s been a long time since I went to a beach where nothing was required of me. And if there was no cell service or wi-fi, that would be okay, too.

8     Who is your favourite book boyfriend and why?

Hawk from Kristen Ashley’s Mystery Man. Because he’s one step down from superhero.

9     What turns you on and what turns you off? (In men)

I have a competence fetish. I love it when a man can do something like make a bear trap from a piece of string and a tin can, or recite the periodic table of elements from memory.

10     Boxers or briefs?  Or commando??? (On men)

Boxer briefs! I’ve tried to train my sons away from tightie whities.

11     Who is on your top five “Freebie List”?  Who could you sleep with that your partner won’t mind?

Jack Johnson, George Clooney. That football player who published a mathematical treatise in a scholarly journal… Competence. It’s addictive.

12     You have a table booked for four in your favourite restaurant. Who would you invite to join you?

A friend from high school that I lost touch with twenty years ago. (Hi, Matt!) My paternal grandmother who wrote romances that were never published. My younger self. (She and I need to have a word about stressing out over nothing.)

13     How can our readers connect with you?

The best place is in The Locker Room on FaceBook!  And on my Website.
