Judging by the synopsis, I thought THE GAME would be one hell of a kinky read; one with a little bit of a dark edge. In the end, what I got with THE GAME was nothing like I was expecting⎯or hoping⎯for. It was kinky, no doubt about that, but it wasn’t just a little bit dark; it was very dark and, in my opinion, sick and twisted. I found the entire “game” to be bizarre and I just couldn’t make much sense of it.

THE GAME was originally released as a series of seven novellas, but it’s now been combined and released as a single book. Even though it’s now a full story, it still has that novella feel to it because of its fast pace. My Advance Reader Copy was in desperate need of a proofreader, as I lost count of all the spelling mistakes and missing words. I can only hope that these mistakes have been fixed in the final published version.

THE GAME is told mostly in Ella’s POV, with the final chapter for each day being told in Tobias’ POV. I will say this for THE GAME though: the M/F/M and M/M/F sex scenes between Ella, Tobias and Preston were so very, very hot. That being said, the amount of anal sex without lube or preparation was, for lack of better words, butt-clenching and wince-inducing. In the end, I would have just rated this story 1❤️, but I added another ❤️ because those sex scenes were fabulous and truly panty-melting.

Frostbitten

Review

Frostbitten is told from Cora’s POV and can I say I really wanted some chapters from Zeke and Derricks POV as i truly believed that would have helped me connect to these two men. I wanted to know how they truly felt especially Merricks tug of war with his beliefs on not being good enough or wanting to turn another human.

I really did struggle with this story, it wasn’t romantic enough for me and the menage felt rushed towards the end as part of tying up the story. In saying that however I did feel Cora’s intense frustration and pain when she was going through the change period and the loneliness and inner thoughts were what kept me turning the pages.

Frostbitten did not flow right for me and again I needed to know what these guys were thinking as one minute Zeke is trying to finish the turning of Cora and next thing Merrick can’t control himself and steps in.

So I am a little disappointed as the cover and synopsis had me thinking I was in for so hot and heavy vampire menage.

Review

Captivating Nights has made me want to be a Y to my very own X & Z. I want what Cali was given by X & Z – she was cherished, devoured and pushed to her limits.

The three main characters all had something that the other needed in order to repair and take a plunge with their hearts. I cannot believe how much emotional baggage these characters had but it just gave them all such depth and I loved watching them all figure it out.

Cali immediately had me within the first few chapters and then X & Z – can two guys be any more dominant, possessive and selfless in the way they brought Cali to her knees.

X & Z both had such strong individual traits and then Cali comes along and it was like a three piece puzzle was solved with one night of passion. I enjoyed watching as they kept putting that puzzle back together each night at the resort and each time it was harder for them to break apart in the morning.

I am glad the author did not go too dramatic with Cali’s diving adventure, the way she entwined that into the story for Zane to have his moment on enlightenment was perfect.

Tears in my eyes with the ending and Captivating Nights is going to my menage shelf to pick up again.

Be With Me is a scorching read that will give you tingles with the anticipation of passionate sexual encounters. Cam, Sawyer and Hutch all provide this story with their own dynamic personalities. Reggie is just a stubborn woman who has so much love and I felt a connection to her immediately.

We follow Reggie as she fights her attraction at every step and I loved seeing how her wall of emotional defence gets torn down by Cam, Sawyer and Hutch. Each of these men feed her soul and repair her heart with hope after their misunderstanding 12 months earlier.

The story flows perfectly from the first few pages. We are taken on a ride of mystery along with three men who are determined to make the woman they love choose them for her happiness.

I thought the menage scenes and how they were inserted into the storyline were perfectly timed. They were not just thrown in unnecessarily and played their part in these four characters realising they can have a future and happy ever after. Individual sexual encounters between Reggie and each of the guys were totally in line with their personalities as men and nurturers to her, it made me love each of them.

This is the fourth time I have read this story and it simply does not disappoint and is one of those books you will read once a year just to return the characters. Be With Me delivers friends, family, love and some simply explosive sexual encounters that will leave you wanting more.

Review

This was fast paced and began along a similar scene to Colters’ Woman (Book 1) and yes I loved both beginnings.

I fell hard for these three boys when I read about them growing up in Colters’ Woman so I was really looking forward to seeing their journey of whether they would follow in their fathers footsteps. All three men had indifvual careers and lifestyles and it was interesting to see how it played out.

Lily is just beautiful and I did not pick her emotional wound, I knew it centred about children but was still surprised when her emotional outburst revealed her true pain and loss. How her path crossed the boys, the way she like Holly in Book 1 enriched their mens lives and strengthened their own personalities and individual charactericstics was a really great journey.

Again we are not deprived of hot passionate sexual menage scenes but then also individual emotional sex scenes between Lily and the boys.

I am really enjoying this series – now onto Callie’s story in Book 3, Colters’ Daughter.

Review

This is going to be another great series by Maya Banks that I am going to devour. Maya knows to give you action, suspense, romance, mystery, passion and great family relationships, it’s why I love her books.

Three dynamic men and one strong willed female make a wonderful story which I could not put down. Love, laughter, trust and resilience is tested in their relationship.

The passionate sexual scenes are brilliant and I loved the menage but then I also relished the individual loving and passionate encounters which each man that Holly enjoyed.

Holly’s history gives the story it’s mystery and suspense elements and it provided the avenue for the three brothers to be all alpha and protect their woman.

The best part we see how their relationship progresses, meet children which sets up for the next book which I downloaded right after reading. I am about to start reading Colters’ Lady (Colters’ Legacy #2) – so excited.

Lucien and Dahlia head to Canada in the hopes that Dunne⎯a being like Lucien⎯can help them break the hold Lucien’s parents have over him, but more importantly, can keep Dahlia safe. Some sexy times ensue and Dahlia is made so powerful that she’s able to solve all their problems without any physical harm coming to anyone.

SACRIFICE is the final novella in the Laid Bare series and we finally find out exactly what Lucien is and what Dahlia becomes. To be honest, I feel all kinds of stupid for not figuring it out for myself. As with the previous novellas in this series, SACRIFICE is told in dual POVs and the story is very fast paced. Overall, I enjoyed this series, but I think the entire series could have been better and more memorable if only it was slowed down and fleshed out a bit more.

I saw the amazing ratings CLAIMING ADDISON had on Amazon and Goodreads and thought I’d grab a copy. Rockstars and threesomes with some M/M action thrown in? Sounds like it could be a good read. And it was good, up to a point.

My main issue with this story is Addison. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a perfectly fine character. However, this is a woman who, for the past several years, has been successfully working her way up the corporate ladder. Her current assignment with 69 Bottles is an amazing opportunity, and if she can pull it off, it’ll be great for her career. But in under 24 hours of her arrival, she’s allowing every member of the band to kiss and grope her before they go out on stage??? And then by day three or four she’s sleeping with two of them??? I find it hard to believe that a woman who was the ultimate professional would suddenly throw her professionalism out the window. I also thought it was odd that her bosses know she’s sleeping with two members of the band, and they don’t care.

CLAIMING ADDISON is part of a series and is told in Addison’s, Talon’s and Kyle’s POVs. The sex was hot and I liked the story well enough, even though I felt it moved a bit slowly. While the book doesn’t really end on a cliffhanger, it does just end, because apparently this threesome’s story will be told over three books. I assumed that each book would be a standalone, and I’m regretting that I didn’t research this series a little more before I started. I just don’t think I have it in me to read about the same threesome over three books, not when I didn’t love the first book.

If you’ve read the series, you know that Leah has had a thing for Ryan for years, but she’s never acted on it because he was married. But in a moment of anger, he did, and it upset her deeply and sent her fleeing to Las Vegas and straight into the arms of Logan, the man she met when she got a certain “something” pierced. She wants to forget about Ryan and thinks Logan will be perfect for the job.

Leah and Logan are great, and I think they could be really good together if her heart didn’t already belong to Ryan. Leah’s honest and upfront and not too shy about asking for what she wants, except with Ryan. Logan‘s cocky, dirty and funny, but he’s also a nice guy who seems to genuinely care for Leah. You don’t see Ryan until the end where he breaks her heart by telling her he wants to try and be friends again. RECKLESS RENDEZVOUS is a quick read that sets us up for Leah and Ryan’s story, which will be the final book in the Reckless Beat series. You just know that their story is going to be explosive and I for one can’t wait to read it and see what is going on in Ryan’s head.

My Review

Ok so I started this right after finishing Weekend Surrender being #1 of the series and did not think it could get better, well I was wrong. Zoey’s story is so much more emotional than Rachel’s and the dynamic of the three brothers was so intense especially Tanner.

The relationship Zoey has with her Mother is another depth to this story and it broke my heart in so many ways.

I really loved how we also got to see Rachel and her men from Book 1 and then also again meet characters that will form Book 3, this series is really flowing well from each book but still giving us a new erotic adventure but enabling us to find out what other characters are doing.

I am really enjoying this series, the ménage scenes are one component of this romantic story but the characters have great depth and connections to each other which makes me as a reader so happy.
