Synopsis
It’s really simple. I needed money. A lot of money. One million dollars to be exact. The amount didn’t matter. All that mattered is that at the end of that price tag held my father’s life.
No money. No life.
The time limit was one year. On January 1st I had to pay up or my Father was going to be killed.
When you’re faced with an ultimatum like this, you do whatever you have to do.
And that’s exactly what I did.
The job…Exquisite Escorts. My role, serve as high priced arm candy to anyone that can afford the $100,000 price tag for a month of my company. Sex is optional (for me) and a 20% increase on the price.
Review
So I stumbled across a blog tour signup for MARCH and after falling in love with the cover, I was intrigued with what I read. Now, I can’t stand coming in partway through a series, so I had to start at the beginning and bought JANUARY.
Meet Mia, a woman in love with love. Until she gets shit on too many times and decides her heart is safer if she sticks with her B.O.B. Her last boyfriend turned out to be a loan shark that not only screwed her, but her father as well, to the tune of one million dollars. Now her father’s lying comatose in hospital after a savage beating and the debt has been passed on to his daughters. Mia does the only thing she can think of. She agrees to become an Exquisite Escort for her Aunt Millie.
The job…Exquisite Escorts. Her role…Serve as high priced arm candy to anyone that can afford the $100,000 price tag for a month of her company. Sex is optional and a 20% increase on the price.
But when January 1st arrives and her first client is the stunningly gorgeous Weston “Wes” Charles Channing III, sex is all Mia can think about. But he has rules: 1 – They must remain monogamous for the entire month; 2 – They will not sleep in the same bed; and 3 – They will not fall in love. But what happens when Mia is unlike any woman Wes has ever met before and he starts breaking his own rules? When her time is up, will he ask her to stay? And if he does, will she stay, or will she go?
So those that follow my reviews know I’m not really a fan of serial novellas. A few things factor into this like how quickly the novellas are being released and the price. I don’t agree with novellas being released a week or two apart, because then I figure “Why not just release one big book?”. Also, if a novella costs more than $0.99, I consider that a rip off. But that’s just my opinion, and everyone’s opinion is different.
In this case, this will be a 12 part novella serial and each part is being released in conjunction with Mia’s clients. Her January client was released in January, her February client was released in February, and so on and so forth. I think this is brilliant, and at the moment each novella is on sale for $0.99 which I’m happy to pay.
I thought JANUARY was a great little read with the perfect amount of spice. Wes is a sexual god with a heart of gold. He is such a nice man and despite being rich, he seems to prefer the simple things in life. And Mia is a nice woman, she’s feisty yet I felt she had an innocence about her. I only hope this experience and the situation her father has put her in doesn’t change her personality too much.
Wes: “You’ll drop your clothes for me when you’re ready. I won’t even have to ask.”
