Synopsis

A New Adult Paranormal Romance

Mothers were supposed to love unconditionally. Mine didn’t. In fact, she tried to kill me on my thirteenth birthday, when she saw just how different I was. My dad saved my life that night. He also took her away on an extended vacation, leaving me with an ever-absent uncle.

Five years later, solitude was something I lived by. I had to because I was different and people tended not to cope well with the unusual. In fact, they hated me for it, were even scared of me because of it.

I thought I was meant to live alone, until Isaac Grey took notice of me. He changed my life, taught me I wasn’t the only one who was different, and I didn’t need to be alone.

But with love comes sacrifice and then pain. Could I ever escape living in the dark?

My Review

Vampires, bounty hunters and shifters will keep you guessing who are the good and bad guys. This story ultimately ended in great battles where good overcomes evil and love wins – had all the right ingredients for a great paranormal romance read.

Great characters especially loved Jeremiah and Issac and their interactions and those also of their extended families.

Enjoyed that we found out about Leila’s heritage and where her mother, father and uncle placed in her life and explained so many questions from the beginning of the story – not left hanging at the end of this which was great. I felt incredible compassion for Leila and the hurtful comments directed her way and she was such a strong female character and I loved her from the first few chapters, I was in her corner through every step of her journey.

Loved the mating scene between Issac and Leila, it was incredibly hot, saucy, sensual and intense and after the coming of age first heat scene for Leila and the frantic pace the story took, I did appreciate how we were taken away and able to enjoy the romance of their mating.

We were given action, humour, family, love and loyalty in a great paranormal read.
