Synopsis
Love is the greatest gamble of all . . .
Nina Sheridan desperately needs a timeout vacation. With a fiancé who can’t even remember how she takes her coffee, Nina wants some distance to rethink her engagement. Flying halfway around the world from England to a mountain town in Colorado should do the trick. But when she finds a gorgeous man at her rental cabin, Nina’s cold, lonely adventure suddenly heats up.
The owner of the house, Holden “Max” Maxwell is surprised by the beautiful woman who turns up at his door. But when Nina becomes ill, Max spends days nursing her back to health. A private man with a broken heart, Max finds himself drawn to the strong-willed woman. Soon it becomes impossible for Nina and Max to deny their growing attraction to one another. Yet even as these two wounded lovebirds think about taking a chance on a relationship, a dangerous secret from Max’s past emerges-and threatens to end their love for good.
My Review
The Gamble, we all take it when falling in love, take one alpha hot mountain man Holden Maxwell (that name just sends tingles to the special places) aka “Max” and stubborn and independent Nina (taking a time out mountain escape) meet, ignite, fight and ultimately find themselves a love like no other.
The one great thing in this story is the supporting characters of Gnaw Bone, we basically meet so many identities that obviously see the attraction and it is funny to see them all play their parts. When these two ultimately have sex it is hot, hard and makes you horny.
I cannot rave enough about this book and I have read quite a few of Kristen Ashley and I enjoy the fact her characters are strong dominating men and the women are independent. She enables the women in her stories to still have their goals with work and family but she also gives them the gift of having a man to look after them and care for them in the way a man should.
Perhaps call me old fashioned but I want to be cared and loved for and I do not want to rule the world, I want my heart and soul to be nourished by a man who I am the centre of his world, who gives love and protects me. Kristen Ashley writes about men who do that and she is a pure romantic goddess in my eyes.
