Synopsis

The more lines they cross, the deeper they get…

Top cadet Lana Marsden lives by the rules. The most important rule of all: no messing around with an officer. She learned that one the hard way.

Now her only desire is to survive the grueling DEEP Training program and leave that scandalous past behind.

When she reports to Station Six amid wild rumors of erotic hazing rituals and sadomasochistic games, she’s not prepared for any of the rumors to be true—or for her insatiable attraction to Sergeant “Catch” Durant, her tattooed rebel of a trainer.

One touch from Catch, and Lana knows she’s in trouble. One night of white-hot ecstasy, and the rules melt away.

Catch knows sweet, sexy Lana is forbidden. She’s his trainee, and her overprotective brother is his best friend. But one taste and Catch knows the last woman he’s supposed to touch will be the one to bring him to his knees. Which is exactly where he wants to be…

A cadet with a secret.
An officer with a secret kink.
A whole lot of rules to be broken.

DEEP is the first full-length novel in the DEEP Series. Contains hot men (and women) in uniform, a violated Code of Conduct, and ice cream. Intended for adult readers, 18+.

My Review

I am not a space geek but wholly Frak this was a really surprising and great romantic read with erotic scenes and emotional power plays between the two main characters.

This is the first romance novel I have read that is set in space so to speak, I admit I did get a little bogged down at the start with all the descriptions of the station and how the whole centre is set up and the cadet program but then we moved onto the central characters and it blew me away.

We jumped time throughout parts of the story and this was mainly for the training programme which for me made sense as from about third of the way through we then get to the real power games in relation to Catch and Lana.

Lana and Catch, what a combination of intimacy but on a level that had such depth of emotion, those last few chapters will break your heart in two and the ending had me wanting to reach and grab book two to take me back to Deep Space.

Lana had me in tears and her inner strength in following her dream was inspiring and I loved how her brother was there finally when she needed him.  Lana and First have some deep rooted family issues and it was interesting to see their relationship evolve during this first book.   I wanted to get inside of  Lana’s brother’s mine, his sexual needs and I hope we get more of him in the next installment and his relationships on the station.

Catch is such a twisted man and the way these scenes are written with the sexual build up and also what transpires between Catch and First and their friendship was brilliant.

This was an exciting read for me from a new author – well done to Jaine Diamond.
