By Kristen Ashley
Synopsis
Early in her life, Josephine Malone learned the hard way that there was only one person she could love and trust: her grandmother, Lydia Malone. Out of necessity, unconsciously and very successfully, Josephine donned a disguise to keep all others at bay. She led a globetrotting lifestyle on the fringes of the fashion and music elite, but she kept herself distant. While Josephine was trotting the globe, retired boxer Jake Spear was living in the same small town as Lydia. There was nothing disguised about Jake. Including the fact he made a habit of making very bad decisions about who to give his love. But for Josephine and Jake, there was one person who adored them. One person who knew how to lead them to happiness. And one person who was intent on doing it. Even if she had to do it as her final wish on this earth.
My Review
The Will, well this is my second time reading, it is like returning to a group of friends and it is like that for me with all the books by Kristen Ashley I have read multiple times. She has the ability to introduce a large group of characters in a novel, not make you wonder who is who but enable you to connect with them all and feel as it you have known them forever. You find yourself wanting to know the main characters story but all everyone else who lives in the town that you are introduced to.
I have re read this as the next Magdalene story is coming out soon, I am hoping we will find out how some of these characters are doing, especially the children and young Ethan who steals my heart every time as a mother.
Josie and Jake in this are just beautiful, the emotion and inner demons they both face and concur to fall in love with each other is beautiful. There are so many sub stories within this and I love each of them. The family and friends again made me laugh, sigh, cry, fist pump and then swoon with the romance and hot passionate sexual encounters. Jake is a man, alpha and strong just like I need them to be. Gran’s ability to entwine her memories and wishes into their lives after she has departed just warms your heart.
You will not be disappointed in reading this, if you have read the Colorado Series like I have by Kristen Ashley it is a given you will love this.
