Synopsis
New York Times bestselling author Katie Ashley revs up the danger and sexual tension in her brand-new Vicious Cycle romance series.
Deacon Malloy’s life is dedicated to the Hell’s Raiders motorcycle club. Tough, hard, and fast with his fists, he serves the group as sergeant at arms. But his devil-may-care approach to life is thrown for a loop when the five-year-old daughter he never knew existed lands on the club steps.
Alexandra Evans is devoted to all her students—but there’s always been something about Willow Malloy that tugs at her heart. There’s an aura of sadness about her, a girl in need of all the love Alexandra can give. When Willow stops coming to school, Alexandra’s search leads to a clubhouse full of bikers…and a father hell-bent on keeping his daughter always within sight.
The moment Deacon sees Alexandra, he has to have her in his bed—and he’s never met a woman yet who couldn’t be persuaded. No matter how attracted she is to Deacon, Alexandra refuses to be just another conquest. But it’s Deacon himself who could be seduced—into a brighter future for himself, his daughter, and the woman he’s falling for against all odds.
My Review
Vicious Cycle is one of those motorcycle romance reads that I am guilty of loving, look you either like MC romance or you don’t – please don’t judge me as I love them. Probably it is the bad boy on the bike secret desires that us good Catholic girls have!
I love that we get a story that can sometimes be rough around the edges but then gives us a soft gooey feel good centre too. So my favourite part was the relationship between the daughter Willow and her dad Deacon but also the most beautiful and carefree Alexandra. I loved how these characters in the end found love, family and new beginnings.
Deacon was the gruff dad but I could see he was fighting his yearning to be that great dad all along, he was just afraid to make bad decisions and the supporting characters in the club made me laugh out loud. I also really was enamoured with the relationship between the mother and her sons, I loved Rev & Bishop too and cannot wait for their story!
Again, dual POV is my favourite as I get to see both sides of the characters feelings.
This story is easy to read, flows quickly and you will fall in love with Willow – she is just an angel child. It is funny that her dad is the big gruff biker who at the start barely hugs the child due to his own issues and by the end with Alexandra’s help gives the father and daughter a new relationship that is just beautiful.
Do I love a sappy MC romance that I know is all fantasy – is the pope catholic? – again no judgement readers – just a sucker for romance I am.
Just on one negative I do think the price for this story is a little high for the type of read – yes I liked it but not for the $6.00 price tag in Australia.
