We welcome Tracey Jane Jackson author of the beloved Civil War Brides Series and introducing the Cauld Ane Series

1     Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, hobbies, pets, etc).

I have been married for over 20 years (which is a surprise, because I barely look like I’m out of my twenties). I have two boys (one who’s driving, eek), and our fluffy dog, Mr. Winston. We are a musical family and we actually own a recording studio.

 

2     How did you get into writing and why romance?

I only read romance (or Lincoln / Grant biographies…I’m a little obsessed with the American Civil War), so it was natural to write it. I was forced into writing by a great friend who dogged me for ten years or so, but it wasn’t until I read a really bad book and decided I’d give it a go. I haven’t looked back!

 

3     Do you ever re-enact the sex scenes you write about?

We do “research.”

 

4     Name a romance book or series you would love to see as a movie/TV Series.

5     Have you ever read a book based solely on its cover?

Probably, but I couldn’t tell you which one.

 

6     What is your ideal way to end a long day?

Wine (always wine), plus my hubby and I watching television.

 

7     Describe your ultimate holiday.

Oooh, somewhere snowy (I’m obsessed with the cold). You will never see me visit Hawaii (unless my stuff gets turned into movies, then I will go because it’s the deal I made)

 

8     Who is your favourite book boyfriend and why?

That’s hard, because I truly married the greatest man on earth, so all of my heroes are based on him…there isn’t a man created (real or otherwise) I like better.

 

9     What turns you on and what turns you off? (In men)

I love pretty men who are funny (which is why I married a long-haired drummer who should have been a stand-up comedian).

 

10     Boxers or briefs?  Or commando??? (On men)

11     Who is on your top five “Freebie List”? (Who could you sleep with that your partner won’t mind?)

Johnny Depp, Keanu Reeves (provided he didn’t speak), Channing Tatum, Charlie Hunnam.
