1 Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am a mother of 2 beautiful children, and my hobbies consist of Reading, writing and Dancing ;-)

2 How did you get into writing and why romance?

It all started with my love of books, I am a crazy reader. Like absolutely crazy. I can sometimes read 2 full length novels a day. When I am not writing, I  am reading LOL.

cropped-ibooks_cover-mine

It all started from there really, I fell in love with words, words that can move you. Make you feel things, take you around the world. And do it all from the comfort of your couch.

3 Do you ever re-enact the sex scenes you write?

LOL That’s a good question, some of my sex scenes come from experience.

I guess most peoples do, though I do have a crazy imagination and like to play things up a bit.

4 Name a romance book or series you would love to see as a movie/TV Series?

Oh god, I have so many that I love. I guess my favourite series would have to be Tara Brown’s The Devil Roses Series.

And my recent standalone that I am girl crushing on would be The Mason List (seriously, read that book).

5 Have you ever read a book based solely on its cover?

Oh yes, I am a cover whore – I love intriguing covers that make me want to one click it.

1     Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was born and raised in Iowa. I have three brothers, two older and one younger.

I started dating my husband when I was 15, then married him shortly after high school. We’ve been married for 28 years, together for a total of 36 years. We have three children – 2 sons and a daughter. And we live in Delaware now. I work full-time in addition to writing.

I have three brothers and two of them have guaranteed me they would not read my book, but my mom and two sisters-in-law have read it.

2     How did you get into writing and why romance?

I have always like to write, but my writing was mostly technical writing or process handbooks for work. I branched out to high school term papers and college papers for myself after going back to school, and when helping the kids.

A former manager of mine suggested I write a book, but that was because of the stories I’d tell about my family adventures. When I finally began seriously considering a book, someone told me write what I know so here I am, writing romance and erotica.

Twisted By Desire is my first published book, but not the first book I wrote. I have 13 works in progress that were started before TDB, and have one that is dying to be written after I publish Jaded By Desire.

3     Do you ever re-enact the sex scenes you write about?

It’s always a good thing to know you have your couple in true-to-life possible situations. I may have created a few of my sex scenes. Yeah, that’s where I’ll leave it J

4     Name a romance book or series you would love to see as a movie/TV Series.

50 Shades of Grey was my first favorite series
23245396and I actually decided to begin writing after I read it.

I think Harper Sloan’s Corps Security
series would be awesome as a movie or series.

Jaden Wilkes has some pretty racy books
that I’d love to see come to life on screen.

And now, I’m just going to say it, I’d like to see my Lust, Desire, and Love Trilogy become a series.

5     Have you ever read a book based solely on its cover?

Yes. The last book I read based on the cover was The Word Master. That book was amazing.

6     What is your ideal way to end a long day?

I start to wind down with a bottle of wine while watching one of my recorded shows – Marriage Boot Camp, Modern Family, or Project Runway. Then when the TV goes off and I pull the covers up on me, I flip open my kindle and read until I’m ready to fall asleep.

7     Describe your ultimate holiday.

I try to make everyday a fantastic day and don’t do a lot of extra celebrating for holidays. But if I’m going to have an ultimate time, I’d prefer to be on a nude beach in Miami or the Caribbean.

8     Who is your favourite book boyfriend and why?

I am a fickle book reader. It all started with Mr. Christian Grey – a lot in my life started with Christian Grey (wink, wink). Then I swooned over the Neanderthal caveman, Axel, one of Harper Sloan’s characters from her Corps Security series. But I think right now, Latch McKay from Reviving Haven is the front runner. He’s young and hot – have you seen the pictures from Cory’s teasers? (Fanning myself) He is closely followed by Jericho James from The Word Master. Jericho is a Dominant and a radio host of a program called the sub-club. O.M.G.

Kind of funny how the dominant’s are book-ends in that paragraph.

9     What turns you on and what turns you off?

IN MEN?
ON: Height (6’ tall or taller); muscles/fit body; confidence; nice, straight, clean teeth; sense of humor; and dressed nice.
OFF: Height (I’m not into short men), sloppy clothes, arrogance, excessive sarcasm, excessive body hair (especially down there) and bad breath.

10     Boxers or briefs?  Or commando???

Boxer briefs.

11     Who is on your top five “Freebie List”?

So if I get five freebies (lucky me) – Zeke Samples, Joe Manganiello, Assad Shalhoub, DeAngelo Demonio and Alfie Gordillo. If anyone needs to tap out, Roman Reigns is my 6th man.

12     You have a table booked for four in your favourite restaurant. Who would you invite to join you?

My husband for sure, either Dan Akroyd or Eddie Murphy because we love them both from Saturday Night Live and some of their movies since then, and President Barack Obama.

1     Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I have two cats Buffy and Lizzie. I love movies all types but really enjoy horror and foreign subtitled films. The only family I have is a brother; we are super close although if you read the dedication in Acquiesce…he totally refuses to read SEX written by his sister. * I read it and laughed out loud – VDub *  As far as hobbies: love running and exercise.

2     How did you get into writing and why romance?

I have been writing since I was a child. Began with music then in high school wrote horror and sci-fi. My mother became very ill April of 2013 so to vent my frustrations I began writing a YA dystopian (I currently have 32 unfinished manuscripts). I became very blocked about 30% through and a very successful author told me to “quit writing what I think readers want and begin writing what I know. I know younger men/older women— so I began writing Reviving Haven. My mom passed 7 days after I finished. I had so many issues with Reviving Haven I chose to release Bite & Release as my first book instead.

3     Do you ever re-enact the sex scenes you write about?

Sometimes the positions – if I am not sure the body will bend a certain way.

4     Name a romance book or series you would love to see as a movie/TV Series.

This Man.  Jesse Ward – he is book husband.
The LUX Series.  Damien Black – he is book boyfriend.

5     Have you ever read a book based solely on its cover?

All the time.

6     What is your ideal way to end a long day?

With a great book!

7     Describe your ultimate holiday.

Going on a cruise to the Fiji islands and being worshipped by a much younger man.

8     Who is your favourite book boyfriend and why?

Jesse Ward – book husband. HOT, RICH, FU**S like a Trojan and 100% crazy (3 out of 4 isn’t bad).

9     What turns you on and what turns you off?
IN MEN?
ON: Perfect teeth, intelligence and humour.
OFF: Bad hygiene, bad teeth and unkempt feet.

10     Boxers or briefs?  Or commando???

Briefs.

11     Who is on your top five “Freebie List”?

I’m not married so I get to BANG whomever I want. Is that what you meant? * Yes.  Yes it was. – VDub *

12     You have a table booked for four in your favourite restaurant. Who would you invite to join you?

Jodi Ellen Malpas, Pepper Winters and Lucian Banes.

Joanne Efendi

Author Of The Month 2

1          Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, hobbies, pets, etc).

I’m the mother of two wonderful (at times) boys. I am highly addicted to Facebook, it is my biggest weakness! I’m a procrastinator, but I’m also very driven to succeed. If I set my mind to do something I will do it, it just might take me a little longer to complete my goal! I’m a novice triathlete. I have completed an Olympic distance tri, but I’m currently only racing smaller races, as I don’t have the time to train for the longer distances (see above: Facebook addiction and procrastinator).

2          How did you get into writing and why romance?

I have always loved writing, in particular romance. I prefer the romance genre to any other genre (although paranormal romance is my fave! Vampires first and formost, then a hot Fae). Why Romance? Simply because I love a HEA. In high school I used to write short romance stories for girlfriends based on them and their crush. Sometimes I was conflicted when friends would ask me to write about them and their crush that would also happen to be the guy I was crushing on!! Awkward.

Writing is a passion, and I have always worked within the writing field, be it journalism or PR. But it wasn’t until my mid thirties that my passion for writing fiction returned and I wrote my first novel Illuminated Darkness, a YA Paranormal Romance.

3          Do you ever re-enact the sex scenes you write about?

All my character emotions and behaviors are based on personal experiences. Lets just leave it at that shall we.

4          Name a romance book or series you would love to see as a movie/TV Series.

The first that comes to mind is ‘The Black Dagger Brotherhood’ by JR Ward. Those Brothers mmmmm.

5          Have you ever read a book based solely on its cover?

No. But it’s always the cover that draws me in initially.

6          What is your ideal way to end a long day?

Quite time alone with a book, or if I’m not too tired, I’ll work on my WIP in bed until my eyes refuse to open.

7          Describe your ultimate holiday.

Bora Bora, on a private over water villa and personal chef.

8          Who is your favourite book boyfriend and why?

Oh this is a hard one! But I would have to say Wren from my book. Followed closely by Eric Northman from the Sookie Stackhouse series aka True Blood. I just love me a hot vampire.

9          What turns you on and what turns you off?

I love a bad boy! Dark past and mysterious, with a rocking body, plus he has to be tall. I love a strong male character that knows his way around the bedroom and knows to how please. And vampires, see question 8. I’m not really into hardcore BDSM. Whips and chains and candle wax doesn’t do it for me.

10        Boxers or briefs?  Or commando???

I’m not picky. I’m a chest, abs and shoulder girl. If he’s built like Chris Hemsworth, it’s only going to end up on the floor anyway.

11        Who is on your top five “Freebie List”?

Chris Hemsworth –  Jared Leto –  Johnny Depp –  Jake Gyllenhaall –   Max Irons

12        You have a table booked for four in your favourite restaurant. Who would you invite to join you?

I’d have Jim Morrison next to me, Chris Hemsworth the other side (as his Norsegod character Thor), Jared Leto across from me.

Michelle Irwin

RBTS Author of the month

1     Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, hobbies, pets, etc).

I am a paranormal romance author primarily, although it could be argued that I straddle the border of urban fantasy. I do dabble in contemporary on occasion, but I love to explore the possibilities of what might be lurking just behind the curtain if you know how to pull it back. I live in Queensland, Australia, with my husband and daughter. We have a cat, Tom. Well, it’s soon to be two cats but don’t tell my daughter it’s a surprise for her. At the moment, my hobby is writing because I work full-time in an accounting role. I love to travel though. My dream is to tour the rest of Australia, the UK and USA in the not too distant future.

2     How did you get into writing and why romance?

I’ve always dabbled in writing. In fact, in high school I wrote a haiku about worms that won me a school-wide poetry contest. As I grew older though life got in the way, so while I was still an avid reader I didn’t find the time to put the words down. My path back to writing is probably a little unusual, but I know a few who have taken it. Basically it involves Doctor Who, Youtube, parallel universes, and a little thing called Fanfiction. I started to put words on the page as a series of ‘what-ifs’ for different fandoms that I was into. Being free to play with other people’s toys (characters) taught me so much about plotting and dialogue and my time there has been invaluable. After writing around 10 novel-length stories on Fanfiction, my ideas were just too big and my own characters too loud to continue playing in other kids’ sandboxes any longer so I started to tinker with my original fictions. The rest is, as they say, history.

And why romance? My husband would tell you that I’m the most unromantic person in the world. If he tries to surprise me, I’ll usually just laugh at him. I’m not a fan of getting flowers (they die too quickly) and if I want something I’ll usually just get it myself. We didn’t even have the traditional flower-filled proposal, more just a mutual decision to get hitched. But despite all of that, I love love. I don’t think love has to be about red roses and hundred dollar chocolates. Love, and even romance, is in the little things. Whether you believe in soul mates or just the fact that you should be with someone you consider your best friend first, I think that the drive to find companionship is human nature. Writing romance, especially paranormal romance, allows me to explore that human nature in interesting ways.

In Through the Fire, my main character is caught in the middle of a battle that she doesn’t want any part because of what she is, and she’s faced with a love interest on the opposite side of that war. Can these two opposites ever come together? Can love force you to overlook prejudice? Is love enough? That’s the sort of things romance novels get a chance to explore—and the characters and their relationships get to come first.

3     Do you ever re-enact the sex scenes you write about?

Hehehe, if you listen to my husband the answer would probably be yes. He likes to tell everyone who will listen that each scene is planned and plotted as live action for accuracy. But in reality, no. I mean, there are certain bits that are probably technically re-enactments, but some bits are the same bits regardless of whether they are in a novel or real life, know what I mean? No? Okay, I’ll just go sit back over in this corner.

4     Name a romance book or series you would love to see as a movie/TV Series.

Can I say my own? I know it’s probably vain and the ultimate in arrogance, but Evie and Clay are just so alive in my head right now after almost finishing their series (in writing, not in releasing yet) that I can literally see the way the scenes would play out. No? I can’t say my own? Hmm, not sure if it’s exactly romance but Frankie Rose’s Blood and Fire series was like a movie in my head as I read it.

5     Have you ever read a book based solely on its cover?

Yes. The series I was talking about above? I saw the cover for Halo (the new cover, not the original one) and it was just so captivating that I had to know more about it. It was also free at the time. So I one-clicked it. Truthfully, it then sat unread on my kindle app for about a month or so until I was flicking through the carousel again and saw it. I started reading and didn’t stop until I hit the end of book two. Now I’m hanging for book three.

6     What is your ideal way to end a long day?

Writing is my therapy. If I have a hard day, I love nothing more than to come home flick on my laptop and torture my characters for a while.

7     Describe your ultimate holiday.

One that never ends? LOL I actually had an experience very close to my ultimate holiday last December when I got to travel to London and get face to face with my idol David Tennant after seeing him perform Shakespeare live on stage. The only thing that let that holiday down was that it wasn’t quite long enough to do everything I wanted and I couldn’t take my family with me.

8     Who is your favourite book boyfriend and why?

I know this is probably going against every fangirl code there is, but I don’t think I really have one. I guess if I’m pressed, I’d have to say Edward from Twilight, but the thing is if he was real and in front of me I’d be more inclined to want to kick his ass for being so overprotective than wanting to kiss him. Why choose him then? Well, what I mentioned about how I got writing . . . yeah, Edward was one of my playthings for a while. And so was the Doctor, rawr!

9     What turns you on and what turns you off?

Literally or in a book. I think if I take the literal option, I will be giving people WAY too much ammunition hehehe, so I’ll take the option of adding “in a romance novel” to the end of the question (see how I dodged there, that was great dodging, right?). I love strong women and loving men. I don’t mind a good alpha character, but he has to have a heart. If he’s all bastard all the time he can just move along. I’m not a fan of cheating in books. Unless there is a damn good reason for it (and I mean DAMN good) or it’s only a minor part of the plot it’s usually an insta-DNF, or not even start, for me.

10     Boxers or briefs?  Or commando???

On men? Boxers. Especially in fiction. There’s just something that’s sexy about peeling away his boxer shorts than his y-fronts. Commando in certain situations maybe, but I just can’t help but think of all the chafing, sweat, and leakage if they get excited and it just grosses me out (sorry, TMI?).

11     Who is on your top five “Freebie List”?

Hmm, another hard one because my favourite actors and the ones I’m most attracted to aren’t necessarily ones that I’d want to jump into bed with. Maybe I’m afraid of shattering the illusion. For example, I love David Tennant. I think he is so intelligent, seems so sweet and caring, is sexy as all get out, is funny as hell, but I don’t think I’d have him on my freebie list. Maybe because I think he’s so cute with Georgia.

Okay, back on point. I guess the Supernatural boys would have to be on there. Jensen especially. There are a few guys that I’ve been stalking photos of totally for research purposes and picspiration for my characters and a few of them are pretty fine.

I really think I need to go back to the drawing board on this one. It shouldn’t be this hard, should it? * Do we need to up the limit? – VDub *

12     You have a table booked for four in your favourite restaurant. Who would you invite to join you?

David Tennant  –  Jensen Ackles  –  Misha Collins

And now my husband will probably be mad with me for not including him. So I’ll have to ring the restaurant back and ask them to squeeze and extra seat onto the table, otherwise he’ll probably take my place LOL.
