Synopsis
Vampires generally aren’t afraid of things that go bump in the night, but Merit and Ethan are extra jumpy after a recent attack by a dark sorcerer. So when they learn that someone is messing with graves in Chicago’s cemeteries, stealing skulls and snatching souls, they fear that their powerful foe might be back for even more magical vengeance.
But after a specter begins haunting Cadogan House—and targeting vampires—they realize that they’re being taunted by an altogether different sort of monster. A ghoulish villain straight out of the Windy City’s urban legends is on the prowl—and he won’t stop until he’s killed again…
Review
The wedding day fast approaches for Merit and Ethan. Both want to be married and thankful that they do not have a long engagement. But on the way to wedded bliss they find themselves in a mystery at a graveyard. They are thankful for the distraction because Merit’s family has complete control over the wedding.
Phantom Kiss is a great novella for this series. Still packed with action and humour that we expect from this series but also was a little lighter though it did have a little drama in the mix. The personalities of all the characters still shined through.
I love the relationship that Chloe Neill has written for Merit and Ethan. We definitely get to see the dynamic that that they have between them while they figure out who is haunting their home. They are perfect for each other and Ethan is the perfect leader for Cadogan.
This novella makes me want to read the whole series again to revisit how Merit and Ethan got their star. Even though I don’t want this series to end, I can’t wait to find out what is in store for them next.
