Review
The world has been attacked by the Scorpius bacteria so don’t forget your Vitamin B shot.
Jax Mercury has stepped up and put together a community after the bacteria has killed about 99% of the population. He protects them but he demands complete loyalty. he has his code and he sticks to it.
In walks Lynne Harmony (former head of the CDC) with her blue heart. People either want to kill her for creating the bacteria or being a carrier for a stronger strain, which neither is true. She traveled across the country to find Jax to barter a deal for protection and resources.
This novel is fast paced. Every time you thought you could take a breath another obstacle threw itself at them. There was incredible chemistry between Jax and Lynne. There was also a lot of characters that shaped the development of the relationship between Jax and Lynne, both good and evil.
I loved that Jax had some really good friends that he considered bothers. They had turmoil themselves, which only strengthened the bonds that they had. I felt all the characters had true strength. The evil characters were equally written well. As you might imagine, in a world that has gone crazy there might be some characters that want to do harm mostly due to the Scorpius bacteria.
And in the end Jax and Lynne just might have a chance in this post-apocalyptic world.
