Forbidden Hunger (Lee County Wolves # 1)

By Teresa Gabelman

BR Forbidden Hunger

Synopsis

A shifter without a pack, Janna Lawson goes in search of the man who her mother died trying to protect. What she finds is Garrett Foster, a man who has the power to decide her fate and causes a hunger inside her that is forbidden to them both.

Review

Janna is the daughter of a human mother and wolf-shifter father, virtually unheard of in the shifter world.  She has kept her wolf on such a short leash that no-one even detects what she is, until she limps into Lee County to find her father, Jonah, alpha of the Lee County Wolves to tell him that her mother is dead.  But her father is a drunk and no longer the alpha; Garrett is and he knows exactly what she is as soon as she steps into his territory.  Her wolf calls to his and his to hers.  They are mates, a statement that confuses Janna as she knows absolutely nothing of their world.  But the shifter that killed Janna’s mother is out for revenge and will stop at nothing in his quest to make Jonah suffer.

FORBIDDEN HUNGER is a quick and enjoyable read, although I’ll be honest, I don’t understand the title given that Janna and Garrett are both shifters, so their mating isn’t forbidden.  I liked Janna; she was strong and was always putting others before herself.  I liked Garrett, but sometimes he would say things that tried to be dominant, but rubbed me up the wrong way.  I know that this is a novella, but I think the story could have been fleshed out a little more.  I would have liked reading more about Janna and her father working out their relationship, and the attack at the end by Jonah’s enemy was over very quickly.  Despite the story moving at a fast pace, I enjoyed it and would read more books in this series.

Thank you so much for taking time to read and review Forbidden Hunger. The next book in the series will be much longer. This is written for a box set and unfortunately had a word limit. I’ve never written shifters before so this was a great way to give it a try and I kinda like it. HA!. Again, thank you so much! Hugs!!! 🙂
