Strap in, get ready to start your engines and see where it all began.
From an early age, Declan Reede’s only goal was to race in the ProV8 Championship Series. One thing he couldn’t anticipate was that a blistering kiss shared with his best friend, Alyssa Dawson, might derail his plans.
While he knows things between them will never be the same, it’s impossible to predict just where the road will take them, or how rocky it might get.
Will he decide to fight for love or follow his dreams?
DECIDE is a new direction for Michelle Irwin as her previous books are paranormals, and it can be a little frightening reading a new genre from an author you like. But I needn’t have worried, because this book held my attention and left me wanting more.
Declan and Alyssa have been best friends since they were six. At age fifteen, they share their first kiss and embark on a high school relationship. But it’s not always smooth sailing as they endure an on-again-off-again relationship for the next couple of years. Now, normally this type of behaviour annoys the crap out of me, but I reminded myself that we’re talking about kids aged fifteen to seventeen here, with hormones going all over the place and where a single word can be misinterpreted and has the potential to END THE WORLD. Aah, those were the days. Back on point, we see the young couple share some important firsts and then watch as their relationship implodes out of fear.
DECIDE is a prequel novella in the Declan Reede series and is set in Australia. While it doesn’t end in a cliffhanger per se, it ends in a way that sets you up for the next book, and I for one can’t wait to see how four years will hopefully change and mature both of them.
