1 Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, hobbies, pets, etc).
Well, I live in a small town in Pennsylvania about forty minutes where I grew up. I’m married, and I have a very spoiled Golden Retriever named Duke. I love to write and read, and I spend every spare moment I have doing both.
2 How did you get into writing and why romance?
I’ve been writing ever since I can remember. Even when I was a little kid I was writing something — songs, poems, short stories. I developed into novels when I was a teenager, and I was always writing about vampires. I just loved paranormal romance even back then. I think I developed a taste for romance, because I was always intrigued by the romance novels that I was reading myself. There can be a lot of drama in a romance. It’s not just about falling in love. Sometimes it’s about how hard you fall and how you stay in love even if people are trying to pull you apart. That can be a very complicated issue to address, and it’s very interesting and exciting to write.
3 Do you ever re-enact the sex scenes you write about?
You have to write what you know; right? That being said, I hope my husband doesn’t read this interview. In all honesty, a lot of authors do a lot of their research online as well as in real life — myself being one of them. I am one of those writers that hope the FBI never looks at my browser history.
4 Name a romance book or series you would love to see as a movie/TV Series.
I really loved Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan. That is one of my all-time favorite books. I heard a movie is in the works, so fingers crossed it comes to fruition!
5 Have you ever read a book based solely on its cover?
I have to read the synopsis and usually the first chapter before I will buy a book. Being a writer transforms you into sort of a grammar Nazi. And a cover won’t sell me as much as the synopsis and no grammar issues in the first chapter will!
6 What is your ideal way to end a long day?
My ideal way to end a long day is to curl up on the couch with a good book.
7 Describe your ultimate holiday.
Ultimate holiday for me would be a lonely island somewhere with no Internet and just a library full of books to read. That to me would be the ultimate vacay. Just relaxing and reading by myself. It seems like as soon as I pick up a book there is a flashing light that comes on that says “interrupt me, please.” lol
8 Who is your favourite book boyfriend and why?
Archer Hale from Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan. I said it before, and I’ll say it again — one of my all-time favorite books! Archer is so unique and complicated…and hot. That makes him the perfect boyfriend. He is definitely three dimensional, and he perseveres through a life that is anything but simple even when the whole world seems against him. * I totally agree with you. Archer is amazing. *
9 What turns you on and what turns you off? (In men)
A man with a great personality and a sense of humor is a really big turn on. The biggest turn off would be cockiness or being a bully.
10 Boxers or briefs? Or commando??? (On men)
Why is there no option for all of the above? lol It depends on what type of guy, I suppose. The hot ones can wear a burlap sack and still look good.
11 Who is on your top five “Freebie List”? (I think this is also known as a Hall Pass. Who could you sleep with that your partner won’t mind?)
Let’s just pretend in a perfect world that this hall pass could come true… Number one would definitely be Stuart Reardon. That man is sex on a stick. Number two, Jared Leto. * Sigh – Yes * He looks good AND can sing! Number three, Ryan Gosling. Number four, Leonardo DiCaprio. And last but not least, number five, Channing Tatum.
12 You have a table booked for four in your favourite restaurant. Who would you invite to join you?
I would definitely invite my BFFs, Jess and Karen. I would also invite fellow author, Lane Hart. And let’s just throw some eye candy in there for all of us and invite Ryan Gosling. LOL.
